              PAYROLL ADVANCES TO STUDENT EMPLOYED
                     UNDER SUMMER WORK-STUDY
                                
  I.   REFERENCES:
  
       None.
       
  II.  POLICY:
  
       Students employed under the Summer Work-Study Program may receive
       payroll advances on their monthly salary in an amount not to exceed
       80 percent of the salary earned at the time of the request.
       
       Advances are granted only when all other means of emergency funding
       have been exhausted, including authorized advances on other forms of
       financial aid.
       
       Advances are limited to the Summer Work-Study Program; advances are
       limited to one per Summer.
       
       Work-Study Payroll advances are granted only to students who present
       to Student Financial Services written verification, signed by the
       student's supervisor, of the total hours worked up to the day of the
       request in the month in which the request is made.  Checks will be
       available at the Cashier's Office between 3 and 4 p.m. on the day
       following the student's request.
