II. POLICY:
The Statement of Intent to Register fee ($50) is required of all new
undergraduates, other than continuing, re-entering, intercampus
transfer, and some foreign students (usually those on student visas,
residing out of the country at time of application). The fee is
non-refundable in all cases; the $50 is deducted from required fees
at the time of registration. The fee is designed to minimize the
problem of new undergraduates who are admitted but do not register,
thus providing the University with a better approximation of the
number of new students who will in fact register. The fee may not be
waived. In special circumstances, the SIR fee may be offset, but
only for apparently full-need EOP students in accordance with Policy
4415.
