ELIGIBILITY FOR UNDERGRADUATE
EOP APPLICATION FEE WAIVERS
I. REFERENCE:
University of California Planning and Budget Manual, Section 6080,
page 13.
II. POLICY:
The fee required in filing applications for new admission,
re-admission, and inter-campus transfer (undergraduate standing
only) may be waived for those students who qualify under the
guidelines of low-income families.
A. A fee waiver is to be approved by the appropriate EOP Associate
Director or Admissions Officer only when family income is at
the levels specified annually by the Bureau of Labor
Statistics, transmitted to the campuses by the College Entrance
Examination Board.
B. Family financial information is to be submitted with the
application.
C. Membership in family receiving subsidized public welfare,
residence in a federally subsidized public housing project, or
enrollment in such programs as Upward Bound, Talent Search, the
Neighborhood Youth Corps, or other local and state programs
intended to aid students who are economically disadvantaged,
can also justify a student's eligibility.
