ENROLLING IN EMPLOYEE TRAINING
AND DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS/SEMINARS
I. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Employee Training and Development Program, administered by the
UCSB Staff Personnel Office, provides classes/workshops which are
designed to broaden employee knowledge and increase employee
efficiency in his/her work assignment. A goal of the program is to
provide growth opportunities which will help the employee's career
development.
II. REFERENCE:
UCSB Policies Manual, Policy 5800, UCSB Employee Development
Program.
III. PROCEDURE:
Responsibility Action
Employee 1.Completes and submits enrollment form to
the Employee Training and Development
section of the Staff Personnel Office
(Attachment A, available in that
office). Information should be completed
legibly and properly signed.
Staff Personnel Office 2.Calls instructor and enrollees ahead of
time if the class is cancelled.
3.Prepares and forwards to Accounting
Office a recharge form, listing
department, account number, and fee.
4.Records attendance on roster. (Note: To
avoid being charged, cancellation of
enrollment in a class with a fee must be
made a minimum of two days prior to the
beginning of the class.)
5.Prepares a recharge after the class is
completed.
