TAKING ACADEMIC COURSES
AT REDUCED FEES (STAFF EMPLOYEES)
I. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As part of its Employee Development Program, the University extends
to its employees the benefits of enrolling in regular University
courses at a reduced fee, Policy 5800. This procedure provides
guidelines for participating in this program for staff employees;
academic employees should contact the Registrar's Office.

III. PROCEDURE:
Responsibility Action
Employee 1.Obtains approval of department
chairman or administrative officer
if course if held during normal
working hours.
2.Arranges alternate work schedule if
necessary.
3.Completes Request for Course
Approval (Attachment B) available in
the Personnel Office.
4.Submits Request for Course Approval,
with appropriate approval signatures
to the Personnel Office.
Personnel Office 5.Authorizes the employee to enroll in
the course.
6.Completes a BA/RC Statement
(Attachment B) and gives the form to
the employee.
Employee 7.Submits BA/RC Statement to Cashier
when paying fees prior to
pub-deadline or late payment of fees
fine is to be charged.
Personnel Office 8.Submits report to Registrar listing
all employees taking regular
University courses with reduced
fees.
