DEFACEMENT OF INTERIOR SURFACES
I. REFERENCES:
None.
II. POLICY:
Fastening of any material to painted surfaces, walls, or doors, on
interior of buildings with scotch or cellophane tape (or any other
tape that may leave a scar or mark), thumbtacks, other tacks, or
staples, is not permitted.
Framed pictures or other material should be supported by picture
hooks. Heavier items requiring drilling and anchoring should not be
fastened by the individual, but by Facilities Management personnel.
A Facilities Management Work Order should be prepared and submitted
to the Facilities Management Department.
Materials applied to painted areas in contravention of this policy
will be removed by personnel of the department involved and/or
Facilities Management personnel. Wall surfaces damaged by improper
application of materials to painted surfaces will be repaired at
departmental expense.
