              SUBMITTAL, APPROVAL & ADMINISTRATION
              OF PROPOSALS FOR EXTRAMURAL RESEARCH
  
  I.   REFERENCE:
  
       A.   Bylaws & Standing Orders of the Regents of the University of
            California Number 100.4
       
       B.   President's Delegation of Authority to Chancellors dated March
            29, 1988.
       
       C.   Chancellor's Redelegation of Authority Letter to Associate Vice
            Chancellor for Research and Contract & Grant Officers.
  
  II.  POLICY:
  
       Proposals for extramurally funded research projects, training
       projects, or other sponsored projects shall be submitted through the
       Office of Research in accordance with procedures established by
       Sponsored Projects. Such procedures are disseminated via Research
       Circulars and Sponsored Projects Important Notices.
