ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEES AND ADVISORY BOARDS
I. POLICY:
Administrative Committees and Advisory Boards serve to provide
administrators with an important avenue for receiving counsel on the
effectiveness of services and/or responses to issues. They also serve
as essential forums within the established organizational setting for
administrators to discuss proposed changes and ramifications of
impending actions.
Advisory in nature, Administrative Committees and Advisory Boards will
report to and make recommendations to an administrator designated at
the creation of the committee. Created to enhance University
operations, committees/boards do not replace, but augment and work in
conjunction with established lines of responsibilities for operations.
The membership of Administrative Committees and Advisory Boards is to
be diverse and representative of the campus population. Appointments
will be based on expertise, expressed interest, and the nature of the
charge of the committee/board.
II. PROCEDURE:
The attachments illustrate the procedure for collectively assembling
Administrative Committees and Advisory Boards annually. The same
procedure is followed to assemble an individual committee/board during
the course of the year, with the exception that the Chancellor, or
Vice Chancellors, may directly seek and receive nominations from the
Academic Senate, the Chancellor's Staff Advisory Council, staff-at-
large, Associated Students, and the Graduate Student Association.
