Assets in Non-UCSB Building Locations

As announced recently, Equipment Management has revised the records for assets that are either not located in a building (motor vehicles, boats, seismic stations, artwork on a lawn, items floating on or under the sea, etc.) or are not located in a building with a UCSB building number (items located at remote research stations or at other universities or institutions, etc.).

Equipment Management made its best effort to update existing records based upon notations entered into the Off-Campus Use and Alternate Location fields, but we may not have always made the correct choice. In addition, the CATS records for assets located in non-UCSB building locations may not have reflected current location: some assets may have been returned to a campus building location while others may be in use off-campus and nothing has been added to the record to indicate that fact.

Therefore, Equipment Management has extracted the list of all assets (1,200 as of June 3, 2009) assigned a non-UCSB building location and created the PDF file that can be viewed below.

The PDF file is sorted by (1) Department Custody Code (numeric sort, not alphabetical by department name), (2) Custody Subcode and (3) Asset Number.

If you wish to review your department’s records, please scroll through the document and then print the appropriate pages.

Only a limited number of departments have assets on this list. In the order that they appear, they are:

Mail Services
Housing & Residential Services

As a reminder, the “building numbers” used for non-UCSB building locations are as follows:

1100 asset located on the UCSB campus, not in a building
1101 asset located somewhere in the State of California, not in a UCSB building
1102 asset located somewhere in the USA, not in a UCSB building
1103 asset located somewhere outside of the USA, not in a UCSB building
1104 asset located at sea
