Each department is responsible for insuring that persons with disabilities have equal opportunity to enjoy campus programs, activities, and benefits. For more information and guidance, departments are encouraged to consult the campus ADA Handbook. The ADA Handbook covers a wide variety of topics, including: Accommodations for Faculty, Staff & Students General Public Accommodations ADA Department RepresentativeCampus departments designate an ADA departmental representative to facilitate information and resources related to ADA and accessibility to departmental programs, services and activities. Department representative responsibilities include: Assist with departmental compliance in accommodating needs of faculty, staff, students and/or visitors with disabilities. Ensure that departmental programs, presentations, materials and web sites are accessible or that alternative formats are available. Provide advice, information, resources, referrals when needed related to accommodations and/or accessibility. The ADA Compliance Officer coordinates periodic training sessions for new ADA department representatives. For more information, please call x2184. |
